Kurrimine-Beach-Nationalpark

The Kurrimine Beach National Park (English Kurrimine Beach National Park ) is about 9.1 square kilometer national park in Queensland, Australia. Since 1988 he is listed for its natural beauty, biodiversity, evolutionary history and as a habitat for many endangered species as a UNESCO World Heritage Wet Tropics of Queensland. He is also part of the Coastal Wet Tropics Important Bird Area. The park protects one of the few areas with original, coastal rainforest.

Location

The park is located in the region of North Queensland and is located about 30 kilometers south of Innisfail and 180 kilometers northwest of Townsville. Coming from the Bruce Highway, you reach the park via the branch line to Kurrimine Beach. From here you get about the Jacobs Road in the Kurrimine Beach Conservation Area. The national park includes it in the north, but has neither a public access nor visitor facilities.

In the neighborhood of the National Park Barnard Iceland Group, Maria Creek, Clump Mountain Range and Basilisk are.

Use

The area was originally heavily forested, today are only a few spots to find with original vegetation in the park. The rest has been cleared for agriculture and settlement.
