Snake-Range-Nationalpark

The Snake Range National Park (English Snake Range National Park ) is a 26.9 square kilometer national park in Queensland, Australia.

Location

It is located about 660 kilometers north- west of Brisbane and 310 kilometers west of Rockhampton in the Fitzroy region. The nearest town is Emerald. From here you can reach the park via the Gregory Highway to Springsure and on about the Dawson Developmental Road to the west. After about 26 kilometers you can reach the park via a dirt track to the northwest. There are no visitor facilities.

In the vicinity of the national parks Minerva Hills, Albinia and Carnarvon are.

Flora and Fauna

The park protects up to 580 meters in altitude, dry eucalyptus forest on the hills of the Snake Range.

Here are the endangered Golden- tailed Geckos ( Strophurus taenicauda ) from the family of double finger geckos, as well as the equally vulnerable Acacia pubicosta from the family of mimosa plants at home.
