Dularcha-Nationalpark

The Dularcha National Park (English: Dularcha National Park ) is a national park in the southeast of the Australian state of Queensland.

In the park, a former railway tunnel is protected, where bats have settled.

Location

It is located 78 kilometers north of Brisbane and 2 kilometers north of Landsborough.

Flora

In the park there are eucalyptus and riparian forest with Flooded Gum (Eucalyptus grandis) and Cabbage Tree Palms ( Livistona australis).

Tunnel

Centerpiece of the park is a 93.5 -meter-long, situated in a curve railway tunnel between stations Landsborough and Mooloolah south to the north. It was built in 1891 and served the Old North Coast Line between Braibane and Gympie. Meanwhile, bats, moths and other cave animals have settled there.

Facilities and access

There are several trails that can be walked or traveled by bicycle, one of them also through the tunnel. Tent and picnic areas are not available.

The national park is within walking distance of the railway stations Landsborough or Mooloolah. Both towns are located approximately 10 kilometers west of the Bruce Highway, about 30 kilometers north of Caboolture.
