Rundle-Range-Nationalpark

The Rundle Range National Park (English Rundle Range National Park ) is a 21.7 square kilometer national park in Queensland, Australia. In the south and east, the 7.06 -square-kilometer Rundle Range Resources Reserve joins.

Location

The National Park is located about 470 kilometers north- west of Brisbane and 55 kilometers south-east of Rockhampton in the region of Mackay. It is a not directly subsequent to the sea area in the delta of the Fitzroy River.

The nearest town is Gladstone. From here you can reach the park via the Bruce Highway north. When Ambrose you turn off onto the dirt Darts Creek Road and just 15 km to the National Park. In the park itself there are no visitor facilities.

Are the national parks Dan Dan and Mount Archer, off the coast of Iceland Curtis and Keppel Bay Islands on the mainland in the vicinity.

Provincial nature

The park is surrounded by watts, which passes into salt pans and mangroves, which lie between the estuary of the Fitzroy River and Curtis Iceland. Here stands the ten -kilometer-long ridge of Rundle Range. On the gentle slopes there are several plant communities, including dry rainforest, eucalypt - dominated forest and one of only two remaining occurrences of coastal Casuarina cristata communities.

Many species of birds live in the park, including the endangered crested Milan ( Lophoictinia isura ), brown-headed cockatoo ( Calyptorhynchus lathami ) and letters Dove ( Geophaps scripta ). Frequently seen are the masks Monarch ( Monarcha Melanopsis ) and the Fox fantail ( Rhipidura rufifrons ).
