Russell-River-Nationalpark

The Russell River National Park (English Russell River National Park ) is a 54.2 square kilometer national park in Queensland, Australia. Since 1988 he is listed for its natural beauty, biodiversity, evolutionary history and as a habitat for many endangered species as a UNESCO World Heritage Wet Tropics of Queensland.

Location

The park is located in the region of North Queensland and is located about 28 kilometers north of Innisfail, 45 kilometers south of Cairns. It includes the estuaries of the Russell and Mulgrave Rivers. You can reach the park via the Bramston Beach Road which branches off from the Bruce Highway south of Mirriwinni eastbound towards Bramston Beach. From here you get in a northerly direction to the National Park.

In the neighborhood of the National Park Frankland Group, Wooroonooran, Eubenangee Swamp, Ella Bay and Moresby Range lie.

Facilities and access

The driveway, which is possible only with four-wheel vehicles, leads across the sand beach, which is only 30 meters wide in some places. On the one side bounded by streams and freshwater lagoons, on the other by the Coral Sea. Here are the five places where camping is allowed.

Flora and Fauna

He it is part of the Coastal Wet Tropics Important Bird Area. The park protects one of the few areas with original, coastal rainforest and mangroves.
