Mariala-Nationalpark

The Mariala National Park (English: Mariala National Park ) is a national park in the center of the Australian state of Queensland.

Location

It is located 810 km west of Brisbane, 128 kilometers north- west of Charleville and 45 km east of Adavale near the source of the Paroo River.

Red sandstone layers characterize the park.

Flora and Fauna

The plains are covered with the silberblättrigen, yellow flowering Mulga. In between, there is also lights eucalyptus forest.

In the park, a small group was settled by Yellow-footed rock kangaroos. We come across emus and echidnas. On diverse but the bird world. In addition to various honey eaters can also observe Inca cockatoos and the rare crested Milan ( Lophoictinia isura ).

Facilities and access

There are no roads or other facilities in the park.

The dirt road from Charleville to Adavale leads 128 km west-northwest of Charleville through the park, which is thus accessible only by four-wheel drive vehicles and only in dry weather.
