The-Palms-Nationalpark

The- Palms National Park (English: The Palms National Park ) is a national park in the southeast of the Australian state of Queensland. It is located 95 kilometers west- north-west of Brisbane and 30 kilometers south of Nanango.

In the vicinity of the national parks Tarong, Pidna Mount Binga lie.

Flora and Fauna

The small national park is known for its Quelltal full Piccabeen Palms ( Archontophoenix cunnighamiana ) fig trees New Guinea and Queensland Araucaria Araucaria can be seen frequently there too. The Piccabeen Palms are surrounded by a ring of subtropical and dry rainforest, which then goes on top in eucalyptus forest.

Numerous bird species live in this park.

Facilities and access

The tents in the park is not permitted. There are several picnic areas and a hiking trail, The Palms Circuit (650 m).

The- Palms National Park can be reached from the New England Highway (exit Cooyar ). From there a narrow, paved road 8 km to the northeast of the park.
