Mooloolah-River-Nationalpark

The Mooloolah River National Park (English: Mooloolah River National Park ) is a national park in the southeast of the Australian state of Queensland.

Location

It is located 84 km north of Brisbane and 7 kilometers south of Maroochydore.

The Sunshine Motorway (S70 ) runs through the northwestern part of the park.

In the vicinity of the national parks Eudlo Creek, Dularcha, Ferntree Creek and Mount Coolum lie.

Provincial nature

The park includes flood plains and gently rolling plains in the lower reaches of the Mooloolah River.

Flora and Fauna

Coastal rain forest is the dominant vegetation type in the Mooloolah River National Park. In addition, the park ecologically important Wallumheideland is protected. Also you will find a small population of Emu Bergkasuarinen ( Allocasuarina emuina ).

Long-tailed fruit pigeons ( Ptilinopus magnificus ), Goldbauchschnäpper and Richmond Birdwing ( Ornithoptera richmondia ), a butterfly species are also found in the park.

Facilities and access

In the National Park camping is not permitted and there are no maintained tracks or other facilities. In November 1999, a management plan for the park has been published.

The national park is accessible from Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Highway from in 10 minutes.
