Howick-Group-Nationalpark

The Howick Group National Park (English: Howick Group National Park ) is a national park in northeastern Australian state of Queensland.

Location

It is located 1689 km northwest of Brisbane and 90 kilometers north of Cooktown. The islands lie to the east of the Jack River and Cape Melville National Park on the continental shelf in the Coral Sea.

Further south are the national parks turtle Group and Lizard Iceland.

Landforms

There are four major islands, the main island Howick Iceland ( Iceland Lizard ) and Berwick Iceland, Iceland Houghton and Murdoch Iceland. To these islands lie around a number of smaller islands. The islands are rocky and partly overgrown with tropical rainforest.
