Tregole-Nationalpark

The Tregole National Park (English: Tregole National Park ) is a national park in the south of the Australian state of Queensland. It is located 603 kilometers west of Brisbane and 10 kilometers south of Morven near the much larger Chesterton Range National Park.

The park at the south end of the Chesterton Range lies at the interface of the Brigalow - biosphere with the Mulga biosphere and is a good example of a semi-arid ecosystem.

Prior to his designation as a National Park in 1975, the area was used as pasture.

Flora

In the park there is the Cadelliabäume, a Surianaceaegattung, almost in pure culture. This delicate species not normally found in such hot and dry climate.

In addition, growing on the hills and in the valleys Mulga possible Poplar box Eucalyptus forests (Eucalyptus populnea ). Brigalow Acacia can be found on heavy clay soils and the rolling plains are covered with Mitchellgras.

Facilities and access

In the park, camping is not permitted. On the road from Morven after Bollon but there is a picnic area. There is a 2.1 km long, landscaped circular route, on which the plants are designated with signs begins ..

The Tregole National Park can be reached on the Warrego Highway (exit Morven ). From there a narrow, paved road to the picnic area in the park.
