Grey-Peaks-Nationalpark

The Grey Peaks National Park (English Grey Peaks National Park ) is an approximately 11 square kilometer national park in Queensland, Australia. He is part of the Coastal Wet Tropics Important Bird Area.

Location

The park is located in the region of North Queensland and protects parts of the green hinterland of Cairns and the Mulgrave River Valley. It is located about 9 km northeast of Gordonvale and about 15 kilometers south of Cairns.

In the neighborhood of the National Park Little Mulgrave, Dinden, Barron Gorge, Frankland Group and Fitzroy Iceland lie.

Flora

The mosaic of rainforest and sclerophyllous vegetation has remained almost completely spared from deforestation and logging because of the steep, inaccessible terrain. The sclerophyllous forest is dominated by "Large - fruited Red Mahogany " (Eucalyptus pellita ) and " Turpentinen " ( Syncarpia glomulifera ) of the myrtle family.

There is no public access or visitor facilities in the park.
