These green fingers are important corridors for many species. In contrast to these widely ramified, many canal-like rivers of the Archer River runs in a single, deep bed, lined with Myrtenheiden and dense rainforest. In the land between the two rivers prevail open Eukalyptenwälder, interspersed with swamps and lagoons that are filled during the rainy season by overflow of surrounding rivers with water.
