Montgomery County (Kentucky)

Montgomery County is a county located in the state of Kentucky in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Mount Sterling.

Geography

The County is located in the central northeastern Kentucky and has an area of 515 square kilometers, of which one square kilometers of water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Bourbon County, Bath County, Menifee County, Powell County and Clark County.

History

Montgomery County was formed on December 14, 1796 from parts of Clark County. It was named after Richard Montgomery, a general in the American Revolutionary War
