Henderson County (Kentucky)

The Henderson County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. In 2010, the County had 46,250 inhabitants and a population density of 40.6 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Henderson.

The County is located in western Kentucky, bordered to the north Indiana, separated by the Ohio River and has an area of 1210 square kilometers, of which 70 square kilometers are water surface. At the Henderson County borders the following Nachbarcountys:

History

The Henderson County was formed on December 21, 1798 from portions of Christian County. It was named after Colonel Richard Henderson, who also provided the land for the construction of the place Henderson available.
