Bourbon County (Kentucky)

Bourbon County is a county located in the state of Kentucky in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Paris, which was named after the French capital, in gratitude for the help in the Revolutionary War.

Geography

The County is located in the central northeastern Kentucky and has an area of 755 square kilometers, of which one square kilometers of water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Harrison County, Nicholas County, Bath County, Montgomery County, Clark County, Fayette County and Scott County.

History

The original Bourbon County was formed on October 17, 1785 from parts of Fayette County, at that time the area was still part of Virginia.
