List of cathedrals in Italy

A cathedral is a church with a bishop's seat. It is the main church of a diocese ( church administrative district). The Episcopal Church is in Italy often called the "Cathedral " (Cathedral), but the term " Duomo " ( Cathedral ) occurs. However, designated " Duomo " is not necessarily always a bishop's church, but more often simply the main church ( Chiesa Madre ) a city, does not correspond to the German meaning of " Dom".
