William Enyart

William L. Enyart Jr. ( born September 22, 1949 in Pensacola, Florida) is an American politician. Since 2013 he represents the state of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

William Enyart first attended the University of Illinois in Springfield. Then he studied until 1979 at the Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, among other Jura. In the meantime, he served from 1969 to 1973 in the United States Air Force. From 1973 to 1975 he was a member of the reserve. After that he worked as a lawyer and businessman. From 1982 to 2012, he served in the National Guard of the State of Illinois. Since 2007 he was a Major General whose commander ( Adjutant General ). In 2000, he had, during his time in the National Guard, completed the Army War College in Carlisle (Pennsylvania).

Politically, Enyart joined the Democratic Party. In the congressional elections of 2012 he was in the twelfth electoral district of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Jerry Costello on January 3, 2013. He won the election with 52:43 percent of the vote against Republican Jason Plummer. Enyart sitting in the Armed Services Committee.
