Charles A. Boyle

Charles Augustus Boyle (born 13 August 1907 in Spring Lake, Ottawa County, Michigan, † November 4, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois ) was an American politician. Between 1955 and 1959 he represented the state of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Charles Boyle grew up on his parents' farm and attended thereafter until 1925, the Mount Carmel High School in Chicago. He then worked for the Chicago Motor Coach Co. After studying law at Loyola University and his 1934 was admitted to the bar he began to work in Chicago in this profession. In 1937 and 1938 he worked as a lawyer for the Federal Housing Administration. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Democratic Party launched a political career.

In the congressional elections of 1954, Boyle was in the twelfth electoral district of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Edgar A. Jonas on January 3, 1955. After two re- elections he could remain until his death on November 4, 1959 in Congress. This time was determined by the events of the Cold War and the Civil Rights Movement. Charles Boyle died in a car accident in Chicago.

Boyle's granddaughter is actress Lara Flynn Boyle.
