Rodney L. Davis

Rodney Lee Davis ( born January 5, 1970 in Des Moines, Iowa) is an American politician. Since 2013 he represents the state of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Rodney Davis was born in Des Moines and grew up in Taylorville (Illinois ), where he attended the public schools. Then he studied until 1992 at the Millikin University in Decatur political science. Later he hit as a member of the Republican Party launched a political career. Between 1992 and 1996 he was on the staff of the Secretary of State of Illinois. In 1996, he ran unsuccessfully for the local House of Representatives. From 1997 to 2012, he worked for Congressman John Shimkus. In 2001 he failed in a bid for the office of mayor of Taylorsville.

In the congressional elections of 2012, Davis was in the 13th electoral district of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of Judy Biggert on January 3, 2013. He won the election to Democrat David M. Gill 1002 vote lead ( 0.3%).

Rodney Davis is married and father of three children. The family lives privately in Taylorsville.
