Benjamin T. Cable

Benjamin Taylor Cable ( born August 11, 1853 in Georgetown, Kentucky; † December 13 1923 in Rock Iceland, Illinois ) was an American politician. Between 1891 and 1893 he represented the state of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

In 1856, Benjamin Cable moved with his parents to Rock Iceland in Illinois, where he attended the public schools. After he graduated from the Racine College in Wisconsin. This was followed up in 1876 to study at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Cable then was active in agriculture and in various craft occupations. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Democratic Party launched a political career. In 1892 he became a member of the Democratic National Committee.

In the congressional elections of 1890 Cable was in the eleventh electoral district of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he became the successor of the Republican William H. Gest on March 4, 1891. Since he resigned in 1892 to further candidacy, he was able to complete only one term in Congress until March 3, 1893.

In July 1904 Cable was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in St. Louis in part, on the Alton B. Parker was nominated as a presidential candidate. Otherwise, he worked in agriculture. He was co-owner of a ranch in San Antonio ( Texas). Benjamin Cable died on 13 December 1923 in Iceland skirt.
