William F. L. Hadley

William Flavius ​​Lester Hadley (* June 15, 1847 in Collinsville, Illinois, † April 25, 1901 in Riverside, California ) was an American politician. Between 1895 and 1897 he represented the state of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

William Hadley attended the public schools of his home and then to 1867 the McKendree College in Lebanon. After a subsequent law studies at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and his 1871 was admitted to the bar he began in Edwardsville to work in this profession. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Republican Party launched a political career. In 1886 he was elected to the Illinois Senate; in June 1888 he was a delegate to the Republican National Convention in Chicago, at the Benjamin Harrison was nominated as a presidential candidate.

After the death of Mr Frederick Remann Hadley was at the due election for the 18th seat from Illinois as his successor in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he took up his new mandate on December 2, 1895. Since he has not been confirmed in 1896, he could only finish the current term in Congress until March 3, 1897. After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives William Hadley worked in the banking industry. He died on April 25, 1901 in Riverside and was buried in Edwardsville.
