Robert Dold

James Robert Dold ( born June 23, 1969 in Winnetka, Illinois ) is an American politician of the Republican Party. From 2011 to 2013 he represented the state of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Robert Dold attended the New Trier High School in Winnetka and then studied until 1991 at the Denison University in Granville (Ohio ). This was followed by the year of 2000 courses at Indiana University in Bloomington and at Northwestern University. Dold then took over the family-owned company Rose Pest Solutions. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Republican Party launched a political career. From 1991 to 1993 he was on the staff of U.S. Vice President Dan Quayle; between 1997 and 1999, he was legal adviser to the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform in the U.S. House of Representatives.

In the 2010 elections Dold was in the tenth constituency of Illinois at the Congress in Washington DC chosen, where he succeeded the meantime resigned Mark Kirk took on 3 January 2011, which had been elected to the U.S. Senate. Dold is considered moderate Republicans. He was a member of the Finance Committee and in two of its subcommittees. In the congressional elections in 2012, he lost around 2,500 votes difference to Democrat Brad Schneider, on January 3, 2013 could replace him with it in Parliament.

Robert Dold is married and has three children. Privately, he lives with his family in Kenilworth.
