Toombs County, Georgia

The Toombs County is a county located in the state of Georgia in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Lyons.

Geography

The County is located in east-central Georgia and has an area of 955 square kilometers, of which five square kilometers of water surface, and borders clockwise to the following counties: Tattnall County, Appling County, Jeff Davis County, Montgomery County and Emanuel County.

History

Toombs County was formed on 18 August 1905 as 142 County Georgia from portions of Emanuel County, Montgomery County and the Tattnall County. It was designated a lawyer, American politician, politicians CS, CS, CS- Secretary General of Georgia by Robert Augustus Toombs.
