Dooly County, Georgia

The Dooly County is a county located in the state of Georgia in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Vienna, named after the Austrian capital Vienna.

Geography

The County is located about 50 km south of the geographic center of Georgia and has an area of 1028 square kilometers, of which eleven square kilometers of water are bordered clockwise to the following counties: Houston County, Pulaski County, Wilcox County, Crisp County, Sumter County and Macon County.

History

Dooly County was formed in 48th County in Georgia as original County on May 15, 1921. It was named after Colonel John Dooly, a hero of the revolution.
