The Colquitt County is a county located in the state of Georgia in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Moultrie.

Geography

The County is located in southern Georgia, is located approximately 40 miles from Florida's northern border in the south and has an area of ​​1441 square kilometers, of which eleven square kilometers of water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Worth County, Tift County, Cook County, Brooks County, Thomas County and Mitchell County.

History

Colquitt County was formed in February 1856. It was named after Walter T. Colquitt, a general, preachers and politicians.
