List of English districts

The list of districts in England leads the 36 Metropolitan Boroughs, London Boroughs, the 32, the 201 non-metropolitan districts, 56 unitary Authorithies and the City of London in alphabetical order. For each of the 326 counties of England, the population, the status or designation and the ceremonial county are called, to which the area belongs. The unitary authorities, which can be compared with urban districts in Germany include these counties only for ceremonial purposes; that is, the Queen is represented in this area by the same Lord Lieutenant.
